two atomic bombs exploded and destroyed the Japanese cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. A total of 129,000 people were killed in the attacks, and over twice that number perished from the resulting radiation, burns, and starvation. While the explosions themselves were a huge blow to the world, they left behind a trail of destruction and thousands of victims from all over the world.

B-41 hydrogen bomb

The B-41 hydrogen bomb was developed in 1958 and was one of the most powerfull weapons ever built. It had a yield of about 4.8 megatons and was carried by B-47, B-52, and B-58 bombers. It was built in two yield versions: the first version, the B-41-Y1, was a nine-megaton bomb and was 4010 kg in mass. Its second version, the B-41-Y2, was produced in June 1964 and was 3.7 meters long. The yield was unknown for the Y2 version, but it was probably not more than nine megatons.

The B-41 was manufactured in the early 1960s and was pointed toward Russia. The United States Strategic Air Command deployed 500 of the bombs, some affixed to Titan II intercontinental ballistic missiles, and the bombs were aimed at Russia until 1976. The bomb was so effective, in fact, that the Soviets eventually decided to withdraw from the Cold War.

The B-41 hydrogen bomb, also known as the Mk-41, was the most powerful thermonuclear bomb in history. Its yield per ton was around 25 megatons, and was the most powerful weapon ever built. This bomb was responsible for many deaths, untold birth defects, and the accidental contamination of 7,000 square miles of ocean. Its yield was so powerful that it was believed that it would eliminate almost half the world’s population.

B-83 bomb

The B-83 bomb is one of the most devastating weapons in Emages, releasing a massive, 180-lb payload that can reduce the speed of an interstellar projectile to 44 miles per hour. This weapon is made up of a 46-foot Kevlar-nylon ribbon parachute and three four-foot-diameter pilot chutes. The B-83 uses LX-17 insensitive high explosive, a type of TATB plastic bonded explosive. The B-83 bomb is a descendant of the B-77 bomb, which was cancelled due to cost and complexity.

The B-83 bomb is smaller and more powerful than its predecessor, the B61. But, the B61 is still used by the United States military today and has been upgraded in recent years to remain in service for another 20 years. Some speculate that the B83 might be reserved for the Space Force in the future. However, if the B-83 bomb is indeed retired, it may not be a threat to the United States.

The B-83 bomb can be described as a “big stick” with a tiny propellant in it. The bomb is 12 feet long and 18 inches wide. The actual nuclear explosive package occupies three to four feet of the forward part of the bomb case, and the bomb weighs about 2,400 pounds. The bomb has lifting lugs, which indicates that more than half of the mass is the nuclear explosive itself. The yield of the B-83 bomb varies from a low kiloton range to 1.2 megatons. It is part of the United States Enduring Stockpile.
