Canada has one of the most open and lenient immigration policies in the world, especially when it comes to immigration from Australia. Australian citizens are able to apply for immigration to Canada through either sponsorship by an employer or by being accepted as an immigrant under one of Canada’s official immigration programs. Either way, applicants will be required to submit some or all of the same application materials and go through some or all of the same steps in order to achieve their immigration goals.
What Is A Temporary Resident Permit (TRP)
When there is a compelling reason to visit Canada but an individual would be inadmissible on health, criminality, or security grounds, they may apply for a temporary resident permit (TRP). With a TRP you can overcome barriers such as prior deportation orders, criminal charges and convictions, and health conditions that would otherwise make you inadmissible. That being said, it is important to understand that a TRP does not guarantee entry into Canada. When applying for a TRP at least one of these four categories must be met: participation in an international affair; labor disputes; conflicting international obligations; humanitarian reasons. Eligibility Criteria
Application for permanent residence on Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds must be based on compelling and compassionate circumstances, which include economic hardship. The person’s removal from Canada would result in undue hardship for either an individual applicant or a close family member. Undue hardship involves more than simple financial hardship; it also includes situations where an applicant’s health would be put at risk or the separation of family members. Applying For An Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
If you’re planning on taking a flight to or through Canada, and you’re not a Canadian citizen or resident, you may be required to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). In order to do so, it’s necessary that you meet these criteria: You are not a resident of either Australia or New Zealand; you possess proper travel documents that allow entry into one of these countries, and your country is a party to an agreement with Canada. Eligible nationalities include the U.S., United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. If any of these requirements don’t apply to you—or if something isn’t clear—don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re happy to help!
Application Process for an Electronic Travel Authorization
Electronic Travel Authorization is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals traveling to or transiting through Canada. It is issued by Citizenship and Immigration. The Electronic Travel Authorization is valid for five years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. Once you get an Electronic Travel Authorization approval, you will be able to travel without a visa, provided that you meet certain conditions set out in IRPA.
Tips for filling out the form
Use your full legal name. If you have hyphenated last names, use your first and last names. Do not include titles such as Dr., Jr., Sr., or nicknames; including these could cause a delay in processing. Spell out any abbreviations and make sure to include periods (i.e. Jr.) if they are part of your name. It may also be helpful to add in countries where you’ve lived if they aren’t on your passport already. In Australia? You’ll need to select an Inhabitant Number since there is no place for a Home Address. This is just an identification number that confirms where you live, so look it up at a recent utility bill or something similar before completing your application.
Completing your application form – general instructions
The first step in applying for a visa is to read, then complete, and submit an online application form. On arrival at our site, you will see four tabs near the top of your screen, which will allow you to select from four different types of applications: Tourist; Business; Student; or Other. Depending on which tab you click on you will be able to select one of two options: either click on apply now and begin filling out your details online immediately or click on Get Started, then continue by printing off a paper application form from our site. In either case, all details must be entered exactly as they appear in your passport (including spelling). You must answer every field and leave no space blank.
